Bujinkan Newbury Dojo is committed to continuing the traditions of authentic ninjutsu in West Berkshire.
Our instructor trained in Japan with Soke Hatsumi and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the dojo.
For the past 20 years, we have specialised in teaching traditional Japanese martial arts, particularly ninjutsu, to adult students.
We are a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about authentic ninjutsu, the traditions and connections with the Bujinkan in Japan.
Instructor – Dave Giddings
Dave has been training in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu since 1989, and opened Bujinkan Newbury Dojo in 2004.
He has trained in Japan at the Bujinkan Honbu dojo, and was awarded his 5th dan and teachers licence in 2009 by Soke Hatsumi after passing the saaki test. As his teaching and training continued he has achieved 10th dan on recommendation by his seniors in Japan, and is currently 10th dan at the 5th level.
With over 20 years of teaching experience Dave brings a rich depth of knowledge to this survival martial art.

Starting on 2nd February 2026, classes are to be held on Mondays, 7.30pm to 9.00pm, at Park House School, Newbury, RG14 6NQ at their Drama Studio.

Gradings will be held approximately once every four months.
Monthly training fees are £45.00 with an annual membership fee of £30.00. Fees to be paid by standing order. For ad hoc visitors there is a one off session fee of £15.00.
Initial membership fee will provide you with a gi to train in and, after a month, a syllabus to train to. Other items like tabi and training weapons can also be purchased from approved retailers or from the dojo itself.
